Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Sheppey Stays! By making a booking with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read these terms carefully before making any booking.

1. Booking and Payment

1.1 Once you have placed a booking, depending on the property you have booked (please see property description), you will need to be verified by our third-party partner, Truvi, before we can fully confirm your booking.
1.2 A deposit/waiver system is in place, which is all handled by Truvi. This will require completion before booking can be confirmed.
1.3 Full payment is required at the time of booking.
1.4 Payments can be made via credit card or direct bank transfer, whichever is preferable.
1.5 In the event of non-payment, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.
1.6 Failure to pass the verification check will result in your booking being cancelled with a full refund.

2. Cancellation and Refunds

2.1 Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to the arrival date will incur a charge of 20% of the total booking fee, but all other monies will be refunded.
2.3 No refunds will be issued for no-shows or early departures.

3. Arrival and Departure

3.1 Check-in is available from 4:00 PM on the arrival date.
3.2 Check-out is required by 11:00 AM on the departure date.
3.3 Early check-in or late check-out can be arranged subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

4. Guest Responsibilities

4.1 Guests are responsible for the property and its contents during their stay and must take reasonable care.
4.2 Any damage to the property or its contents must be reported immediately, and guests may be liable for repair or replacement costs.
4.3 No parties or events are permitted without prior agreement.
4.4 The maximum occupancy of the property is given in the property description. Exceeding this number without prior  consent may result immediate termination of the rental without refund.

5. Pets

5.1 Pets are allowed.
5.2 Guests must clean up after their pets and ensure they are kept under control at all times.
5.3 Pets are to not be left alone in the premises if they are likely to cause nuisance or damage.

6. Smoking & Drugs

6.1 Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property.
6.2 A cleaning fee will be charged if smoking has occurred indoors.
6.3 The use of illegal substances are strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate termination of your booking.

7. Liability

7.1 We accept no liability for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur during your stay.
7.2 We are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables.

8. Force Majeure

8.1 We are not liable for cancellations or alterations to the booking caused by events outside of our control, including but not limited to acts of God, pandemics, war, strikes, or extreme weather conditions.

9. Privacy Policy

9.1 Data Collection

We collect personal information that is necessary to process your booking and provide the holiday rental services. This may include:

  • Name
  • Contact information (email address, phone number)
  • Payment details (card or bank details, though we do not store these directly)

9.2 How We Use Your Information

The information we collect will only be used for:

  • Processing bookings and payments
  • Sending confirmation emails or important information regarding your stay
  • Ensuring legal compliance (e.g., for taxation or safety purposes)

9.3 Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or distribute your personal data to third parties unless required by law or in the case of:

  • Trusted third-party providers involved in the booking process (e.g., payment processors, verification partners)
  • Legal obligations, such as government or law enforcement requests

9.4 Data Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously and follow industry-standard measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9.5 Your Rights

11.2 The terms applicable to your booking are those in force at the time of booking.

12. Governing Law

12.1 These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
12.2 Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
